Privacy notice
Exactly what RightNow keeps — and what it never touches. In plain language.
What we store
A coarse home area (a neighbourhood — never your exact address), the names, kind (adult, child or elder) and optional age of the family members you add, a preset avatar you choose for each of them, and the feedback you give on suggestions.
Your family
Each family member you add has a name, a kind (adult, child or elder), an optional age, and a preset illustrated avatar you pick from a fixed set — never a photograph. We do not offer photo uploads for family members, and that includes children. You may also record accessibility needs (for example step-free access, seating or a short walking distance) for any member; we use this only to filter and rank suggestions for that member, never to profile or advertise to them. Family members are visible only to the other people you have linked into the same family — nobody else. Leaving a family removes you from it; if you are the last linked person, the family and anything shared within it, including its shared saved list, is deleted.
Invite links
To add another person to your family you generate an invite link, valid for 7 days, usable once, and revocable at any time before it is used. Anyone who holds the link can join your family, so treat it like a key and share it only with people you trust. You may optionally send the link by email — that address is used once to deliver the invite and is not otherwise retained.
What we never do
No dates of birth — only ages. No photographs of you or your family, including children. Your exact address never leaves your device, and we don't track you across other apps or sites.
How we use it
Only to suggest age-appropriate places near you — weather-aware and sorted by travel time. Nothing else, no ads.
Your controls
Review or delete everything anytime from Settings → Account. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
Who is responsible (controller)
RightNow is operated by GGkas Sàrl-S, a société à responsabilité limitée simplifiée incorporated under Luxembourg law, registered with the Luxembourg Trade and Companies Register (RCS Luxembourg) under number B279432, with its registered office at 12, rue de la Gare, L-3377 Leudelange, Luxembourg. GGkas Sàrl-S is the data controller for the processing described in this notice. You can reach us about anything privacy-related at privacy@rightnow.lu.
Why we may process your data (legal bases)
Providing the service you ask for — storing your coarse home area, the family members you add (names, kinds and optional ages), your feedback to compute suggestions, and keeping your account and family working, including invite links you create or accept — is based on the performance of our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Optional usage analytics and crash reporting are based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which is off by default and applies only if you opt in. Keeping the service safe — for example checking that requests come from a genuine copy of the app — is based on our legitimate interest in protecting it (Art. 6(1)(f)).
Usage analytics and crash reporting (only with your consent)
If — and only if — you switch on “Usage analytics”, we collect anonymous usage measurement through Google Analytics for Firebase and crash reports through Firebase Crashlytics, to understand what works and fix what breaks. This is off by default, it is never a condition of using RightNow, and you can change your mind at any time in Settings — collection stops immediately. We use no advertising identifiers and show no ads.
Who processes data for us (recipients)
We use Google Firebase (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC) to run the service: sign-in, database and backend hosting — including the family member names and details described above — and, only with your consent, analytics and crash reporting. To fetch weather for suggestions we send coarse coordinates (reduced to roughly neighbourhood precision) to Open-Meteo; map tiles and place lookups use OpenStreetMap Foundation services. If you send an invite link by email, or when we send you account-related email, the message is delivered through Brevo (Sendinblue SA) — the recipient address is used only for that delivery. These providers process data on our behalf or for the technical delivery of their own service — Open-Meteo and OpenStreetMap never receive a name, because we never send them one.
International transfers
Our providers operate primarily in the EU/EEA, but some (notably Google) may process data in other countries, including the United States. Where that happens, the transfer is protected by an EU adequacy decision such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, or by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep data
Your profile — home area, family members' names and ages, feedback and saved spots — is kept until you delete it or your account; deletion is immediate and permanent. Family membership follows the rule described above under “Your family”. If you consented to analytics, measurement data is retained by Google Analytics for at most 14 months and crash reports for 90 days, after which they are deleted automatically.
Your rights
You can ask for access to, correction of, or erasure of your data; receive a machine-readable copy (Settings → Account → “Export my data” does this instantly); restrict or object to processing; and withdraw any consent at any time with effect for the future (Settings → “Usage analytics”, or delete your account entirely). Use the in-app controls or email privacy@rightnow.lu — we answer without undue delay and at the latest within one month.
Complaints (CNPD)
If you believe we process your data unlawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Luxembourg supervisory authority — Commission nationale pour la protection des données (CNPD), 15, Boulevard du Jazz, L-4370 Belvaux, cnpd.lu — or with the data-protection authority of your own EU country.
